Your 'dreams.' When you fall asleep, you experience 'astral projection,' which involves the mind wondering off to random parts of the brain. Your brain transports images you've seen to your eyes. It can randomly make new images appear or occur. It is actually the eyes moving very rapidly that occurs while experiencing the movement of the 'dream.'

You are technically in wherever you fell asleep like a bed, i.e.
But..be careful not to eat/drink certain 'unhealthy' foods before bed. As it can cause 'nightmares.'

Try to not think much, relax before bed/sleeping.

Then enter your own little dreamworld!

I think that we are like a clam. We crawl into our brain and take a rest. If there is a noise we might wake up. So there is a response to the outside world. If we didn't turn off the conscious mind to rest we would likely become insane. Examples of people with sleep deprivation prove that. So close the shell and go to sleep and don't worry about it.

If we can master the art of controlling our subconscious then we can be aware whether we are asleep or not.But it is highly recommended that you let your subconscious free because all new ideas and solutions usually come because of the proper connection between knowledge, logic and the subconscious. So it must not be hampered in any case.So it is better is we are not aware of ourselves being asleep.
Good luck.

you are wherever you were when you went to sleep, unless you are sleepwalking.

sometimes you are dimly aware when you are asleep, as when the sound of your alarm clock enters your dream as, say, an elephant trumpeting.

sometimes you can be conscious THAT you are dreaming while you are dreaming, but you can't easily plan to do this.

sleep is a way for the brain to confront all of our feers and dramas so we dont get it all pent up and go nuts. 95%of all dreams are nightmares. thats why you dont remember them most of the time, your brain blocks it out. if you take a certain drug you can be semi-conscious while sleeping (dont remember the name of it) but when it was in trial use, many of the participants went insane. so easy answer is no, long answer is yes, but you shouldnt be.

I don't know either. But I met and was with the cutest girl and her mother was in bed with us. she had a tan and was ok too. I wanted to see more of the girl i was with but the dumb dream would not let me see her. When i woke up i was upset i could not see her. I went back to bed only not to dream that dream again.
I am waiting to see her anyway again some night in my dreams.
Good night to you and have a pleasant one.

sleep is for our brains to rest and to store memories
we can't do this if our brain is bombarded with information , it would disrupt the whole process.
and our bodies can't rejuvenate if we are expending too much energy.

you wouldn't want to. people who can't sleep at all usually go insane. total sleep deprivation in rats leads to death in around 28 days. sleep is needed to regenerate and renew our bodies.
