Reverse racism. That's exactly how your acting !
Why do black people keep going on about "reparations" ? I damn sure don't owe you for the past of American History. You, and every other person that is a citizen of the U.S. has all the same chances to go to school and work as white people. It's when you keep bringing up the past that NONE of us had a thing to do with that gets really tiring. See , it's you right now making an issue out of things as well as many other black people who do the same thing. So ya I'm angry, I'm tired of it. Call me a racist for feeling that way if you want ! You have an education and a good job ? BE HAPPY !
We are not responsible for slavery rather we are responsible for ending slavery. You aren't owed sh*t.
I have had black friends in my home. I have nothing against a person for being black...It's black people with your attitude that I have a problem with.
Also, black people that keep wanting to go on about American History need to look a little deeper at World History and LEARN that slavery wasn't just here and there weren't just black slaves.
You and everone else need to let that dog die !
Or I'm going to start pushing for united cracka college scholorship program !
And W.E.T. Tv. "White Entertainment Television".
And" tim15roth" down there just summed it up for me.
Read your question and "inteligentb" down there, then tell me who sounds ignorant and racist ! Both of you keep refering to white people in a very racist attitude !

Wow, you have a chip on your shoulder about this. Ok, lets use your analogy about the thing you said about black masters owning my ancestors etc.
STOP !
I am white, my ancestors came to America on the Pinta and then later on thru England to the colonies. (Those on the Pinta went back). My family has been in the American south for over 230 years at least. When I say south, I mean the northernmost part of the south. My family has never owned a slave. So how much do "I" owe you?
That sista, is the problem. I owe nothing to your people. You need to forget about your "PEOPLE" and see that we are ALL your people. The people that are fortunate enough to all live in the United States of America. You are contributing to the problem instead of uniting. I've invited black people over many times, some have spent the night in my home. For three years I shared a place with two "brothers". I've been out with black women. So again, just how much do I owe you?
Hey wait a minute.. Maybe I can file a grievance.. I was a pretty good baseball player growing up, and I certainly would have made the majors if it wasn't for black people being allowed to play the game. So now all of those brothers making millions owe me big time. Mmm Hmm.
Yea, lil redbone, you see now that just because some people in the past did something wrong, that every one with that skin color should pay for it? So if a brotha robs a bank, all blacks are guilty and should serve time right? That IS what you are saying isn't it?
Lemme know what you think.

While your ancestors were slaves in the South, mine were starving on potato farms in Ireland living in worse conditions than your ancestors.
I'll be happy to pay you reparations for suffering that your great-great-great grandfather had to put up with in the South as soon as the British pay me for my great-grandmother's suffering.
There isn't a whole lot of difference between a slave and a serf. You would be hard pressed to find someone in America who wasn't descended from slaves. For many Europeans it ended centuries ago. For Blacks it ended 140 years ago. For the Irish it ended in the 1920s.
Blacks have been treated badly in this country. There are still some injustices. But in the last 50 years a lot of progress has been made. The solution isn't to give you money -- it is to give you educations. The opportunity is there if you take it.
If that doesn't work -- perhaps we can let you open casinos. It's been working for Native Americans.

Hmmm... suprised this one hasnt been censored yet. Well first off let me start by saying I have a black wife and child so I am by no means racist, so that being said.... Let me answer your ignorant racist question with another... Why do all you BLACK people think that you need to keep your race seperated from everybody else by saying Black this and Black that all of the time. I swear if I hear my racist mother in law say "MY PEOPLE" one more time I am going to scream. Ok now that I have that off of my chest Why is it you think reparations should be paid?... There is not a person living on earth today who had ANYTHING to do with slavery. What would you also hold a man responsible and imprison him for life because One of his distant ancestors killed somebody? I think not. Quit trying to fit the stereotype and be realistic about things. Everytime you think about reparations, try thinking about something else for a second. Like how miserable your life would be if no slaves were brought from Africa. No healthcare, Grinding poverty, The highest rate of AIDS in the world. That is where you and your family would be right now. If you read the entire post, thank you and try to think instead of keeping the segregation going by making statements like this. I know slavery was a horrible thing to inflict upon people. And I thank your ancestors for being the backbone that created this country.. It wouldnt be the same without them.

life is cruel...and white people are certainly a part of life.
the real anger should lie in why this still persists today. even after the holocaust, there have been attempts of genocide in croatia, rwanda, iraq, sudan, who knows where else. the indigenous people of south america still have very little rights and are treated very poorly.
you have every reason to be angry, but you should channel it in a more constructive way. be an activist for people that are still being exploited.
...and keep a close eye on big business. they will become the aggressors of the future, just as countries and people were in the past. rather than colonizing countries, corporations will acculturate societies...and with that the cycle continues.

Does this mean I should be able to recieve reparations from the Englishman that owned the land that my ancestors worked on for no pay? Should Jews get reparations from Egyptians that owned their families? Every race of people known today has been enslaved at one time or another, but I don't hear anyone else asking for anything. And before you start to go off, my entire family is from Ohio and Pennsylvania. I have done extensive research of my family, and not one slave was ever owned. My mother's family came to the colonies in 1640 from Scotland, and my father's came over from Ireland in 1790. Both families were small farmers who worked the land themselves. I really don't see why anyone should be held responsible for something their ancestors did. You say you are educated, shouldn't you get your revenge from the Africans that kidnapped your ancestors and traded them for guns to the Europeans? I mean, if we're going to relive history, shouldn't we cover all the facts? And why should any black today get the reparations?
Just so you know, I have "BLACK" people over to dinner all the time. Hell, more times than not they crash. I personally don't see skin color.

If you are living your life to prove to white people that your life is worthwhile, you are wasting your time. If your life can't be worthwhile to YOU, then why are you trying so hard?
You say you don't want to be stereotyped, yet you just called a whole lot of white people ignorant.
I believe in equality and taking everybody at face value, while at the same time considering the history of each race, and more specifically, each person. I don't think that people should be treated a certain way because of how their ancestors were treated though, everyone should be treated fairly because we are capable, civil human beings.
Just as you did not personally experience the tragedies of your ancestors, I did not personally commit these tragedies. So why don't we move on and look at each other eye to eye?

Read your own question in an objective state of mind, and you'll find that you're generalizing objectionable characteristics on an entire race, in much the same way that your question implies that all whites behave toward blacks.
No, I don't have a solution to the "race problem", but I try not to lump any group of people or race into one category. Perhaps if more individuals didn't use generalizations toward others, we might move forward from the status quo that your question implies.

I think the ignorance of your question answers itself perfectly. If you were half as brilliant and queen sh1t as you say you are you would know that whites were slaves before blacks. There was a thing called indentured servitude for whites to get their asses over to the new world. They served and died right next to your black ancestors.
Blacks fall about a distant third on my list of cultures that got the short end of the stick....First we have the Jews...yea I didn't see many blacks gassed and burned....Second we have the native Americans, the blacks didn't have any land or valuables to steal or pollute, Third I guess we do owe you something an apology of some sorts maybe but not really. Whites are now the minority in most cities in the united states and the numbers keep going in that direction....
I hate to see when someone has a bad day and think that they are oppressed by the white man....grow the hell up and educate yourself before spouting wildly about...

Why should our government pay reparations for something that happened that long ago? Admittedly, our ancestors wronged your ancestors, but what does that entitle you to? After Lincoln freed the slaves, and after MLK, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, etc, all anyone should ask for in America is an equal chance. A chance to succeed or fail based on personal talents, not skin color. A chance to be treated just the same as anyone else, have the same education, job opportunities, medical care, etc.
The amount of reverse discrimination that happens in America both saddens and disgusts me. I lost a job that I was absolutely amazing at when I was a contractor because I am a single, white male, and therefore am the low man on the totem pole for hiring. I see black comedians doing stand-up about white folks, but no white comedians will touch a routine on African Americans. I see the NAACP, but where is the NAAWP? Why is there a Black Miss America, but if you ran a White Miss America, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would live on your doorstep?
Can't we ever get to the point where it isn't black vs white vs Latino vs Asian?

Well, you are angry. Don't blame you. My Irish ancestors laid under a burning tent while the Colorado National Guard fired machine guns through their living quarters. I think Colorado owes me something besides a lame monument on some hillside. They owe me something better than a 1980's minimum wage and taxes and water rights that help big business but not me or my neighbors. My problem is I can't talk to these people without loosing my temper. So I sit up late at night and write to strangers. And before you say it, you are right. There is not much comparison between slavery and getting shot at occasionally. I can walk down a Colorado street without looking over my shoulder all the time. It would not be so easy if I was Black. My East Indian Friend was deported back to India after legally working for 16 years and paying $100,000 in taxes last year. He went to the wrong church and looked the wrong color. I apologize on behalf of the people who by genetic accident feel they can consider me their brother. I won't apologize for myself yet, because we haven't met, but i hope we could someday and I hope I won't have to apologize. Take care, and i hope you get some sleep tonight, It is hard to be angry and be strategic at the same time. i hope you are better at it than I am.
