If I have two containers and one has 2 holes (1 inch diameter each) and the second container has 2 in diam hole (1 hole only)
and if i add the same amount of liquid to each one of them is water going to pour out at the same speed or I need to take into concideration water tention and stuff.
Thanx

answer to
the one with 2 holes will pour faster because the one with one hole has no inlet for air.
I have two holes on a bottom not one ot top
And two 1 in holes and 1 2 in hole. So two are equal 2 in. So I thought containers will get empty at the same time

ttocsewol's answer is correct. You might want to go through the calculations and analysis in a little more detail though.
It is approximately true that the amount of water that will pour through a hole is proportional to the area of the hole. Note that it is not proportional to the diameter of the hole but rather the area of the hole.
The area of a round hole is calculated with the formula:
Area = pi x r^2 in words: area equals pi times radius squared.
radius is 1/2 of diameter so using those formulas we can calculate the area of a 1 inch diameter hole and a 2 inch diameter hole. They are
1/4Pi and 1Pi respectively. Thus the area of a 2 inch hole is 4X the area of a one inch hole.
The first container has two one inch holes so the total area of the holes in the first container is 1/2 the area of the single hole in the second container.
Therefore the first container will drain about 1/2 as fast as the second container.
Note that this answer is not exact because the perimeter area of the hole has a small effect. Also the shape of the opening starts to change as the liquid level starts to fall below the tops of the holes. Calculating these effects would be very complicated.

Assuming both containers are identical in size and shape the flow is dependent on the area. Area of smaller holes 1in dia = pi/4 so for two holes pi/2. The area of the large hole=pi. The area for one larger whole is twice the two smaller holes, therefore the container with single larger whole would empty faster. Hope this helps.

the flow of water will be based on the area of the holes. The area of the hole being pi *(d/2)^2.d being the diameter of the hole.
for the first container area = 2 * pi * (1/4) = 1/2*pi
for the second container area = pi * (1) = pi
so water will flow faster through second container then the first.

The rule of thumb is: If you double the hole size, you typically quadruple the flow capacity.
So your single 2 inch hole will flow 2 times more water than the two 2 inch holes.
The rule can be shown by calculating the actual size of the hole using pi x r x r

area is what that matters the most.
a 2 inch dia hole has an area of pi square inches
while two one inch dia holes will have a combined area of 0.5 pi square inches only.
now you know which is the larger hole.
naturally the second one with one two inch hole will drain out twice faster than the first
Effect of factors like surface tension etc will be more prominent in smaller holes than the larger ones

speed of water will depend only on the depth/height.but the flow of water will depend upon the area of cross section.since the area of cross section of two holes of 1" dia will be 1/2 times the area of cross section of one hole of 2"dia the flow will be more in the latter case than the formal.however the pressure will be more through the 1"dia holes than the 2"dia hole
