I dont think so. Zidane had two solid games. Against Portugal and against Brazil. Spain game was ok. He was horrible in qualifiers. there were palyers that played great this whole tournament. And he tarnished his whole legacy with the incident. He is a great footballer, but he is also known for losing his head and gaining himself lenghty suspensions and this was another example. I thin on that incident alone he should now have been given this prestigious award. By the way he also showed no class by not stepping up to receive the trophy. At least this is what I was told, if it is true that is classless.

OH YEAH... He deserves the golden ball and probably Zidane also deserves the best football player ever born for a lifetime achievements. He deserves more than golden ball. Peace be with you Zidane. Hope you know that I love so and If I have a chance, I will kick that nasty racists dumb.a.s.s Materazzi for you and skinning his tattoos from his dirty skin. Keep the racism out of the FIFA world cup.

Of course it right to hand the golden ball award to Zidain cos he was the better player on the ground before and after the incident. Red card mean nothing and it'll never change the voting system for the Journalist those who voted for him.
He deserve the last glory at least.

convinced, Materazzi did say that Zidane deserved the award because he became the superb on the pitch. He received it for what he did on the pitch," Materazzi reported in an interview with Gazzetta dello sport printed Thursday. "He became the superb." Materazzi became the single which became headbutted, if he feels that Zidane ought to keep the golden ball, I dont see who can disagree.

yes it is right to give him to golden ball, he deserved it
when you look at french team, zidane carried the whole team by himself, his teammates suck
other teams like italy or germany have lots of players who had outstanding performance
so to be able to go into the final with a team like that, Zidane deserved the golden ball

Hell yeah!!
Anyway, it was Journalist's covering the World Cup that voted for him. So unless they are unhappy with the result, no one else has the right to change it.
