Ok, so I just moved to Virginia from Portland, Oregon. I used to get one hour massages there for $20 at a massage school. Any Virginia residents on here know of any place like that in Southwest VA. Im talking Roanoke, Charlottesville, Lynchburg. I guess I could just call some of the schools tomorrow, but thought this might work too. Oh yeah, Im a full-time student, so I am poor and I like going to the schools rather than spas. Student acupuncture clinics would be awesome too...

i don't know about other states, but in cali, we can't or shouldn't charge for our practice massages. especially the ones that are mandatory for homework. u should look into that. they should be free. look up some schools in the area. u might be able to put up your info for anyone needing a body to practice.

You could go to the abmp web site www.abmp.com they should have a list of approved schools. Every state is different in what they allow for schools. Practice sessions are different than a student clinic. practice sessions should be free, student clinics usually have a reduced fee. Oregon is a great state for bodywork, lots of great schools. I'm not sure what VA codes are but here is their website to check out www.dhp.state.va.us/
I hope this helps and remember that the students are not getting paid. The reduced rate usually goes to the school to cover expenses...so a tip makes their day! (some states prohibit gratuities so be sure to find out!)
