Seriously... the man is so strange lately. I can see a scenario in which he started freaking out that he was indeed gay(maybe during Interview with the Vampire?), and went to a shrink, who told him he was gay, and he didnt like the answer, and found a group that assured him they could cure him of his gayness by accepting his donations.
There is something so supressed about him, which I think that is why he acts like he is on speed lately, jumping into couches, grabbing Katie left and right, etc etc. His inner demons, gay or not, are trying to catch up with him, and he seems to think if he smiles and keeps talking, no one else will hear the voices in his head that say "dude, you like dudes...".
Poor Katie, she is like Rosemary in Rosemary's Baby, the scientology version. All because Tom needs a beard.
