Just because something contains chlorine doesn't mean it's inherently poisonous. Salt is Sodium Chloride, Sodium and Chlorine. As humans, we'd DIE if we didn't get enough salt in our diet. (no salt at all is more harmful than the 'too much salt' that some people eat)

What the chlorine does in Splenda is change it into a molocule that isn't broken down by the body. It retains it's sweetness, but it's flushed out of the body every time you urinate, so it doesn't act as a 'food source'.

Now, I haven't read any studies on it's cancer effects either way so I can't comment on that aspect of it.

I am a diabetic and Splenda works for me. Is there something I should know about Splenda?

I've heard so many awful things about splenda, but the people at the FDA are a bunch of idiots anyway, so nothing will change.

Everything causes cancer, the air you breathe, the chemicals in most of your vegetables, and lets not even talk about the meat. So what, who cares? You can't make everything illegal. If you don't want Splenda-induced cancer then don't eat it! Everyone should quit worrying so much about cancer before their blood pressure gets so high they blow an aneurysm.

Splenda gives me headaches(bad ones too). So I stopped using it. They should put in a warning, as to use at your own risk.

I think that it's a great substitute for people who can't have sugar, but perhaps they should have researched it further before letting it out on the market.
