because if feeds our need for a definition of self....without the past...there would be nothing to define you or me...or anything...so remember that when you are making your own history every day...

history is cool for a lot of things. like you learn what happenned in the past, and see what mistakes have been done,a nd see how some problems were solved. it educates your character,a nd gives you criteria to develop your own thinking, and establish even you own moral values...
and there is one last thing, but the coolest of all. "That who knows the past, controls the future."

OK we've got recorded history of humans for at least 5,000 years ... so with all these idiots, they must have something intelligent to share with us so we can be wise ... when we learn from our own mistakes, we're getting smarter, but when we can learn from someone elses mistake ... well, we're wise.

We can compare the past to hopefully prevent things from happening again. Unfortunately, not everyone holds this opinion.

referring too far back in time, jumping previous
generation gaps, and isolating themselves for
