If you want to get clothes that are cute and trendy, try to find something that accentuates what yo ulike about your body and minimizes the features that aren't as flattering. For example, to minimize stomach, you can get shirts that bunch a litte across the front. To lengthen legs, get long pants (with a pattern going down the outsides of the legs preferably). The trick is to get things that make YOU feel good. The better you feel, the better you'll look, I promise. If you want to pick up some hot tips onhow to dress according to your body type, try picking up a few magazines - Seventeen usually has good ideas. It'll show you trendy looks and you can pick patterns and acessories that show your style and personality. Make sure everything fite into your school dresscode though. It stinks to get clothes and then not be able to wear them. If you're required to wear a uniform, try expressing yourself through use earrings or bracelets and such. Best of luck! Enjoy the 8th grade! :)

Don't be a whore. You are too young to dress like you're dancing for cash.
Get some blazer-esque jackets (sophisticated but not severe), some bands tees (make sure they're classics, GNR, etc, so they will be in style forever), jeans that are just loose enough to make you look thin. If you're going to wear those shirts with the supposedly witty phrases make sure they're either clever or ironic, not disposable. Skirts as a rule should be at least to the middle of the thigh. Anything shorter is trashy when translated into reality.
Leather boots are good, and if you buy the right type they will last forever. Get some sneakers with color, but not obnoxiously so. A few pairs of flats work well with skirts and pants.
When wearing tight or revealing things ONLY WEAR ONE AT A TIME. The mini-skirt and the halter top are not slutty with a demure top or khakis respectively, but together they signal disaster.
Finally, if you try something on and it doesn't fit, just leave it at that. No matter how cute it is, if it makes you look like a sausage your dignity and your cash will be spent.

i'm a girl. i'm also going into the 8th grade. Omg ! SCHOOL!
i like the fitted polo's that almost look like guys polo's, except form the slightly puffed sleeves. cute 'vintage' tees are supe comfy, but watch out, they are mostly 100% cotton, so they'l shrink. my sis says: don't freak out on the price, if you buy three or four different pairs of 30-40 dollar pants/skirts that you will for sure wear because you likethem, and the way they look on you (not just because they are stylish) then they are worth it. don't buy cheap clothes now in multiples. they will cost more in the losg run. i like designs that are kindof interesting to look at, like vines intertwined in keyes, skulls, hearts, and the words, 'cherrish' 'move on' and 'selflessness'. ( that's my fave shirt from old navy. it's white tee, with that stuff in black and blue. it goes great with those bermuda shorts in blue and grey plad.)
at school, especially when you have hour long classes, i don't like skirts. and with dress code, it's best to stick with jeans and polos and school shirts. that's really all the students at our high school can wear, so i'm not going on a total major shopping spree yet. save that for 9th grade...

How about you just go and but the style that you like and what you feel comfortable in and not try to conform to what other people THINK you should wear.
Why don't you be a trendsetter instead of trying to follow everyone else. People will like you more.
