I like the question - how old is "old"? But anyway, Here's what I think: Inside an old person is still the same old person who used to be young, only everything is gradually wearing out. Most are glad they are still here. Physically and even mentally, things are going south, but these folks have so many experiences they have learned from and skills they have learned, that they still have much to offer.
Today, age 70 is not old. Age 80 for some is still not old - many of these folks can pass for much younger (and do). Now 90 IS OLD, but again, many today are still enjoying family and friends, cards, shows, restaurants, etc. Good health becomes the #1 issue and the ability to walk is a primary concern. Eyesight also. But then, much younger folks are incapacitated in these ways and many still cope well and enjoy life. Prayer helps.

I think you mean, Are they satisfied? That really depends
on their overall health. And whether they have good friends.
And whether they're active and can be mobile. Hobbies too.
