Please give details about the usage and requirements & location where u will be driving.
Now both the cars have been built on the same platform. Alto = WagonR - 1 cylinder.
Alto has better looks & the quality of interior plastic is a little bit better than the WagonR. Thats where it all ends. WagonR is a great package in comparison. It offers more power But milleage is reduced. Good interior space because of the tall boy stance. Some nice features in the interiors. But wait what is now going now
WagonR is offering discouts that add upto Rs.55,000. Also a new upgraded WagonR will be here on the 19th of July. That wont be offering the dicount however.
Does that change it all ?
If not just test drive the Santro which is unbeatable on any of the counts mentioned above.
No. 1 is the Santro & then its the WagonR.

What is your need. if you want power its better you go for WAGAN R.. Thing is Alto seems to be designed for small roads...
all it needs is less space...
WAGAN R is comparison seems better than alto..
more space.. more controls..and good looks.. why would a man think of slim little cars ..its like going to a bar and asking for a glass of milk..

They both r in different price bands altogether. Alto is in the 3-3.5 range and WagonR in the 4-4.5 range.
In case price is not a constraint then go for the WagonR as it is a really good car. Very good driving comfort, good fuel economy, spacious and seats 5 persons quite easily.

Alto is good in regard
*Mileage-city 16-17,Long drive 18-20.(With AC on)
*Good Aircon power-(Switch ON only after 3rd gear and above else it becomes sluggish.)
*Ride quality-good even @ 110 & 130 Khr
And don't forget that u r getting all these with less price on a 800cc.
Wagon R, is similar to ZEN with differnet Body structure.
*Good Pick-up.
*Mileage 15-16
*Spacious.
*good ground clearence

Go for the alto! It not only looks good but u have a lot of space too!

obviously the Wagon R is extra perfect, for its extra efficient engine, seems, boot area, and in alll contexts than an Alto......... Alto also isn't undesirable...... yet of both the Wagon R is extra perfect...

Of course go for Wagon R, its a better car than Alto....
Its got better space and comfort.....
Price variation is there like the ex showroom price
Wagon R near about Rs.3,50,000 - 4,00,000
Alto near about Rs. 2,30,000 - 2,80,000
Alto is also not a bad car but Wagon R is better.......

i disagree vid the 1st one and agree with one above me coz if u r a nice high person then alto wont even let u sit but wagon R is nice bigger better for small or long drives. but it doesnt luk gud so c it is that u dont get everythin' perfect.!!!!!!!!!!!

Neither, Check for the new Tata Indica Xeta, which is a better option compared to these two
