No, you can blame the parents for allowing their children to be exposed to violent content, and you can blame the religions because the more religious a country is the more prone it is to violence. You cannot blame the media, it gives the people what they want. Should we go back to the days when a married man and woman didn't even sleep in the same bed on tv?

well , i think its more like peer pressure , everybodies doing it , the same old same old everyone grows up with and hormones raging doesn't help in this . as for the violence part i think if kids aren't taught at home not to be violent , or enough wasn't done to punish them when they were violent as young kids then they grow up unruly. listen when i was a kid in the 60's and 70's you has all kinds of bad stuff on tv . life is more the determining factor for this than the media is .

We do not have to let our children watch television. So if we think the media is corrupting them then we should stop letting them watch things that are "violent". So no, the parents are partially to blame for not taking more timeout to screen what their children watch.

I just love the way people blame the media for the way their kids turned out. Do you think it might, just might, have been poor parenting? Another ready scapegoat is our schools and teachers.

partially, parents help/hinder the issue by not being constantly in the lives of their children to teach them that sex and violence aren't just abstract entertainment devices but actions with real and dangerous consequences.

You don't have a right to not be offended, but you do have a right to look away. It's not my responsibility to see that your kids are raised properly.

Well said.

Yes, the media should be held responsible (or hold themselves responsible) for what they portray.
