We all know the types....people who simply won't tell. Why? Because your name is weird? That's the only reason I could think of. Maybe I could get some answers from people who don't like to share their middle names?

Majority of people hide or are nervous about their middle name because they dont like it. It is almost like showing your belly button or underwear. People like to keep it to themselves. Ego thing I think.

People dont share they middle name because is a secondary name given to them that is not used often though probably was a grandparent name or a name choosen and had no logically significance to it most people feel the first name and last is good enough and straight to the point the middle name is optional only if you like it if you hate your first name you SOL you stuck with people callin you by it unless you spend money to change it or make sure everyone you know, knows you by your nick name so only childhood friends and relatives know the real name

The only person that I ever knew who absolutely would not share his middle name...(well..he ended up sharing it, obviously, but only after some serious badgering which lasted for a couple of weeks)...was because his middle name is Wash and he hates it. I think it is a very refreshing, unique name.

Generally because they don't like the name. The only person I know who really hates his middle name has the name Reginald. True it is a weird name...but it is original, and if he just went with it he could make it work.

The middle names are usually embarrassing. For example, my guy friend is named Justin, but his middle name is Ashley. Why? Because his parents wanted a girl. See how embarrassing it is? And see why you shouldn't tell me secrets? I tell 348938493 people on the internet. :]

Some middle names are just completely embarrassing. Mine is Elizabeth which is old but still cute. But my sister's is Eugena lol its a family name and she HATES it. My mom on the other hand hates hers also Lavonna! and then there is Dwayne and Dwight. I would be embarrassed too if i had names like that. Francis is another one. Just imagine it! EWW

Some middle names suck. I'm guilty of giving my son his dad's name for a middle name and as soon as the kids found out what it was (middle school) that's what he was known by..but he handled it fine, even tho it is a pretty bad name.

They think it's cool to have a secret, me personally I hate my middle name. Everyone that I have met that was named Chris has been a jerk to me. Including my cheating ex girlfriend.

Maybe they're embarrassed that they have an old boring name. Mine's old and boring, but I couldn't care less - Maree. It's not like I ever use the name for anything.
