Please no exagerations....an honest answer and no lectures about unsafe driving . I thought I was up there. But some guys told me of highway speeds that I just cannot believe.

I neglected to say, I ran a 150 digital speedo in my newer ZO6 Vette between Gila Bend and Yuma, AZ. Sweaty palms slowed me doen not the Vette.

1999 BMW M3 - Dinan: 163 mph (158 on digital readout, between 163 on analog gauge). I-44, Oklahoma.

However, I have driven a number of RX-7s (3 to be exact) and a couple of fast Fords over 140mph as well.

168 mph in a 1964 Plymouth sport fury with a 440 cu.in engine,,that came out of a cop car,,this was back in 1975,,and i had a state trooper behind me to prove it,,and still have the ticket i got from it some where,,and i have to admit,,it was pretty scary,,the guy that was with me got down in the passenger side floor board,,and started preying for his life,,but i don't drive that that anymore.

Well. Without a whole lot of wind resistance and provided i'm going downhill, i can reach a little over 100mph. That is until the governor kicks in and my car is rendered useless!

Sorry, Canadian here, but I can't help but brag. 160km/h in a 1990 Ford Tempo L. My theory was that cops won't believe a crapbox like that could go that fast. lol
