They won't. The Chinese know that if they ever attack, then the U.S. will go to war and then afterwards there will be very little left of the world. Military action against Taiwan by the PRC would be seen as a serious threat to peace and obligate the United States to come to the aid of Taiwan under the Taiwan Relations Act. The President of the United States, an act of Congress signed by the President, or a declaration of war would be required to approve of military action. And you can't forget about Japan being dragged into the war as the PRC would launch a pre-emptive strike against Japan to prevent U.S. troops stationed there to reinforce Taiwan.

I do not think that they will invade. China is the third largest economy after the United States and Japan. With that economic force, they will ultimately be able to "buy" Taiwan. China will provide such a huge market and eventually offer open borders for Taiwanese citizens to visit family on mainland China that the people will force a reconciliation and ultimately re-unification.
For reference, look at what happened with Germany and the current trend in the Koreas.

China retook control of Taiwan about four years ago I believe. I recall seeing it on FoxNews, as some sort of treaty expired or Taiwan requested it. I remember hearing about it though. Right now China is no threat to us, as their economy is pratically carried by the U.S. They would be able to substain a war with us for about two years before they would need help. If we had an embargo, their economy would probably collapse, according to some economists in Washington.

YES! definitely one day TAIWAN will be conquered since their proximity is close to CHINA. War or no war, time will come the Chinese will invade their own ancestral province.
