Michael Young of the Texas Rangers wins the Ted Williams All Star Player Award (M.V.P.) and the American League wins the home field advantage for the World Series...

Did Michael Young deserve the M.V.P. Award?

Is Manny Rivera (N.Y. Yankees) the best closing pitcher of all time?

Your thoughts...

First of all never mistake the name of the best closer of all time...its Mariano or Mo, not Manny. Never ever get his name mixed up especially with a Boston Red Sox scrub. Mariano is my favorite player in baseball and is still the most dominant closer in baseball. We could've said that Hoffman was the best, but look he blew the save and I don't see 4 W.S. rings on his hands. Gagne can't handle the pressure of big games either, just look at couple years ago when he gave up runs in the all-star game and blew it. Mariano is the most feared and successful closer in baseball.

Michael Young deserves the MVP Award cuz he drove in the tying run and the go ahead run. A lot of pressure cuz he was at bat with two outs and drove in two off a dominant closer in Hoffman to win the game.

Awfully iffy about Young getting MVP. Well aware that he scored the tying and winning run, but cases could be made about other players too.

Glaus: set the whole thing up with his double. Scored the winning run and played first (a position he has never played before).
Wells: decent night at the plate, but more importantly, gunned down Soriano at home plate.

As for Mariano being the best closer, doubt that. I think he has a bit more to go to really claim that title.

hell yea young deserved the mvp he knocked in the tying and winning runs, caught the last out and played solid defense. just like any ranger fan expects out of the best 2B or SS in the AL. yes he is better than Tejada or Jeter. Young has one of the highest batting average with 2 strikes and has the highest batting average with runners in scoring position. and he plays stellar defense everynite and never sits out. the only person who didnt realize his greatness was dumb *** john hart. he was an awful gm in texas. he tried to hold back young and wouldnt let him start and put every obstacle possible in his way and young overcame them all.

surprises bout the game was how quick and boring it was til the end. the 1st 8 innings were really really boring. and that Brad Penny was throwing almost 100mph. i had never seen him throw that hard not even in the video games.

Mariano is probably one of the 2 best closers in the game the only one who can compete with him is Eckersly.

finally issues have a way of fixing. decrease back contained in the Nineteen Nineteen Seventies- Eighties the NL became the dominant league, and that i believe that the NL received 11 instantly All favourite individual video games, and it became in 1983 in Comiskey Park the the AL received for the fist time in a lengthy time period. Then for extremely a lengthy time period, it became the AL being the dominat league, yet i think it is starting up to revert decrease back to the NL.

This was just what I said it would be and the MOST exciting way to end a game! 9th inning,2 outs people on.HELLO!~It was great!I was surprised but then again not by the score being so low,but they all played hard and did well.Yogi truly did say it best--- "It ain't over till it's over" and the A.L. did it again! -----And Rivera is MOST DEFINATELY they best closer of all time. GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was surprised the A.L. didn't score more runs. Young was as good a choice as anyone. As for the best closer of all time my choice would be Bruce Sutter or Rollie Fingers. I saw both these closers pitch and they were totally awesome.
