It's usually about a year, but there's no guarantee that it will come to HBO, watch for some on STARZ and some of those other movie channels.

the gap between theatrical release and dvd/ on demand/ HBO/ basic cable/ network stations is forever shortening, along with evryones's attention span and the amount of surprises and mystery involved in a new movie before you see it, due to preveiws, trailers, the web, info leaks, ...etc.
