I agree with DJ somewhat but I also think that its far worse when a player has malicious intent to provoke another to anger. You would have to be completely inhuman not to react to an direct insult to yourself or to a family member. If the Italian player only just shut his mouth and concentrated on the match, the butt head incident would never have occurred. Zidane should have known better and tried to ignore it but hey there are only so many buttons a person can press to make someone lose his or her temper.

Zidanes actions were worse, it shows the better character if one can walk away from lip from the other side.
Both sides held malicious intent, they wanted to win and this is called the "World Cup" for a reason. You can't expect every one to be happy huggy on a field under those circomstances, especially during the final. It would be nice but man kind ain't there yet and niether is football. Unfortunetly.

Actually, Zidane's reaction and feelings are more upfront, honest and understandable. We know where he stand at least.
The other is sneaky, passive aggressive. Harder to really deal with.
