I own shares in CHK and GW so I would be curious if people like either of those companies or have some other thoughts regarding investing in Natural Gas.

Encana. (ECA, ECA.to), and COP. They own huge tracts of land all over the planet, are exploring vigorously, and are relatively cheap.

As well, they have connections to Bush, Major, Saudi's and Blair via the Carlyle group.

that's a bone-headed theory for most folk. attempting to make investments like Warren Buffett will in basic terms paintings once you've Warren Buffett's aspects that you just about surely do not. at first, you make investments in no longer publicly traded organisation by inner most fairness and challenge capital. there are a decision of human beings available doing that, notwithstanding it takes vast money. there's a range of of labor to be finished in determining that the small organisation is "going to get great returns" and view were given to envision the criminal structure in which you'll make investments (you receives some type of protection or partnership, excellent?). meaning you want to be able to make investments sufficient money to make the due diligence and criminal paintings useful. Warren Buffett can attempt this because he can make investments $1B. you won't be able to. 2d, making an investment in privately held agencies is much more durable than publicly traded agencies. for example, the financials do no longer favor to be stated to all people so that you're able to have a heck of a time decidding if the financials are GAAP compliant or no longer. Are you solid sufficient that you'll seem at financials and ask the questions that permits you to are making them GAAP compliant? Then a very difficult part of inner most fairness is determining an go out plan. inner most fairness is illiquid. in all likelihood you desire money finally. how can you get it? you ought to go away this to Buffett and Blackstone and et. al. and make investments in SEC-monitored publicly traded agencies.

Sure GW is ok if you want to buy things when they are on sale. As to which one is the best, thats hard to say as of now. IMO the sector as a whole isnt going to move much right now except sideways. There is an oversupply of natural gas, so dont expect to make much money until the end of the year when it starts getting cold.
