Countries in SE Asia are know to have legal prostitution. Therefore, having been to Singapore one would be more familiar with the technique of removing a woman's clothing by ripping them off.

Yeah, it just proves that Sparrow has been there, and is familiar with the ladies. On other news tho, the 3rd POTC movie, (At Worlds End) is involving Jack going to Singapore again, and some Asian pirates.. not sure if they are good or bad yet, but we know they will be there! Hope that helps and I sure look forward to the last chapter.

Cpt. Sparrow had been to Singapore, and had seen how ladies "fashions" worked...and didn't. A lot of "fashions" were brought back to Europe from the Far East. It wouldn't surprise me if the corset was one of them.

Plus, Cpt. Sparrow being a pirate.........he's into helping women undress quickly.

In other words, in Singapore, the ladies all wear corsets and Captain Jack knows what the ladies over there wear. This is supposed to imply that he has a lot of lady friends that he "sees" over there.
