People who act stuck up as you say are doing so to hide some type of insecurity....they actually feel deep inside insufficient in some way...therefore have to make other people feel inferior to make themselves feel better and look better than others... on the other hand....the person may not be stuck up at all...you may have this feeling about someone that you have your own insecurity about...feel intimidated by...whether it be looks, money, social group...whatever...and you assume that this person is stuck up....have you tried approaching them in a friendly manner and befriending them? Because they think they are better than everyone else. And most were probably brought up spoiled and things were handing to them. So they naturally think that people should treat them in that respect as well. And I noticed that a lot of pretty people tend to only like other pretty people. And they ignore those that they find are up to their standard of dress and attire. Im talking about personal experience. If you don't wear the type of clothes and fit in, then they tend to lift their nose to you because of something so superficial. It's really sad.
I dont like stereotyping, but its from personal experience that most preppy girls don't want to hang out with those that are individuals that think for themselves, that doesnt go along with everyone and do their own thing. Guess i would have to ask someone who is stuck up, why they are like that. But I guess those that hang out with them doesnt seem that they are stuck up, but find the others stuck up, LOL!

Sometimes we mistake stuck up for a person who is truly shy and waits to be approached rather than make a fool of themselves. When I was young I was one of those people. I am friendly and outgoing but I always felt everyone was better than I so I took that aloof attitude rather than be rejected.
Those that are truly stuck up seldom think anyone is worthy of their company unless you have something they want or need. They think hanging out with anyone that is beneath them will lower their reputation in others eyes. What they are to ignorant to realize is that they are truly missing out on people of diverse backgrounds and have a lot to offer. Just be friendly to everyone and let the others that feel their self importance have a good time talking with themselves.

Because they are giving you the signs that they are worthless barely human spawn that were not raised well and you need to steer clear of them at all cost....Because 10 years from now 1 of those girls will make it, 4 of them will be fat (not a bad thing, but they think it is) , 2 will be drunks and 1 will love crack....oh, and 1 will have 4 kids by 3 different fathers and herpes....that's what stuck up will get you
Don't sweat it...those girls suck and trust me it soooo comes full circle!!

They think they are better than you and look down on you either for your looks or for whatever reason. I had friends that were like this (they were sisters) but now we are not friends anyone...to be honest they don't have any friends anymore and only hang out with each other or with Mom and Dad. They were in their 20s but were like children, I have more fun with my more mature friends now.

Write it off as typical teenage cliquishness. I went through it as a teen, no one would talk to me. Now that I'm an adult, the girls who snubbed me as a girl are friendly and wonderful people to know.

Tunnel-vision and television!They can't see the forrest for the trees.Ego plays a big part."Edging God Out" It makes me want to go up to them and scream like that Japanese guy on tv!!

Perhaps it's something that you did, and don't realize it... Guys go through this all the time with women, so I'd say the problem is you, for paying it attention.
