I thought they passed a law to make them transferable?

As long as you don't change your ISP you will not have to change the email address. (the phone numbers for cell phones is that law thing)....

You don't have to change your email address, law or no law. I have the same address if I'm at home where I have verizon wireless or at my sister's where they have cable modem or in another country where I don't even know what they have. I have a Yahoo address. You must have some very restrictive email.

noooo. a modem is just how you connect to the internet. you can use the email whether you connect via dial up or broadband.

You won't have to if you stay with the same email provider.
