Sometimes it's just our subconscious giving us gut signals that we've seen similar situations and have a good idea of how they usually turn out. But I don't think that's the end of it. There's some tricky quantum stuff going on in the mind, and some funny properties of quantum particles that suggests that well-organized quantum fields (like, say, our memory...or consciousness itself?) could have actual physical interaction with the FUTURE...or with other dimensions even. We're not well-built to understand or deal with that kind of thing, at least I don't think we are, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Hell, why do so many animals flee disaster sites BEFORE the earthquake or flood...is it possible ALL higher life forms have a tiny area of brain that can pick up on strong signals from other dimensions or times? Science always seems to answer these questions EVENTUALLY...but if you want an answer to your question NOW, ask yourself this question: if you had a close friend who lived in the 1400s and who had this weird idea that the Earth rotated around the Sun, what would you tell your friend to do? Because when it comes to these kinds of things, we just don't know for sure yet...we WILL know, but for now we're only guessing. And it's usually (but not always) not a good idea to openly make guesses about things that scare or offend other people...and "psychic" stuff tends to do both. There's no RIGHT answer, by the way. For example, what if you CAN sense the future, and you keep your mouth shut, and a disaster happens that you had a feeling about? You don't deserve blame for it, but you'll GET that blame if you talk about what you didn't do. And if you DID speak out, you're still going to run up against people later who'll tell you you were just "lucky" and that you're being a crackpot, even if your "crackpot warning" saved someone's life. There ARE people who appreciate this kind of "sense"...whether it's actual psychic ability or just a good set of instincts for patterns and outcomes...so probably the best solution: want to be around people who appreciate that sense and don't judge it, and see if your wanting that guides you into a more comfortable social circle.

What is really happening is that you've read or seen television shows about people having psychic abilities, and come to believe that it's possible. Then you noticed that you sometimes get a feeling when something happens that you knew in advance that it was going to happen (we might refer to that as "predicting the past"). When you had that experience a number of times, you began to believe that you could predict the future, like those people in the stories you'd read or seen.

Your belief may have been strengthened by a some instances in which you did actually expect something to happen and it really did, and by that time your belief causes you to pay particular attention to those correct guesses and to ignore all of the times when you had the same kind of expectation but the event did not happen.

This is extremely common, and obviously nothing to be worried about. If you persist in believing that you really do have some kind of special psychic ability, as you can see from the answers to your question, you will have no problem finding people who enjoy sharing the belief. It'll probably be a social icebreaker, so on the balance, other than the fact that you're wrong, this belief is harmless.

Now, I'm sure that answer won't sit well with you or with the others who enjoy believing in these kinds of things, and in fact I will predict that people will respond with all sorts of anecdotes designed to prove the special ability. If you find yourself wanting to respond that way, reread my response, because you've missed the point.

On the other hand, if you really do have a special psychic ability, go ahead and post 10 predictions about the future (that is, things that have NOT happened yet, NOT 10 predictions about things that have already happened*), and we can check back later to see how you did.

* Read this very carefully: telling us that you predicted (say) Hurricane Katrina simply means that you can "predict" the past (like everyone else), since Katrina already happened. It's not really a prediction unless it's about the future: things that have NOT HAPPENED YET. Anecdotes about the time you predicted X and then it actually happened don't mean anything at all.

I'm w/ you on that one. For a while I kept trying to perfect it - but sometimes ppl wouldn't believe me. My sis. was in a bad wreck & broke her leg after I told her not to go - she believed me after that. I got to where I could even use it in playing cards. I could tell you what each card was before it showed. I never talked to the devil or anything. I think it is an awesome gift - maybe God will use it for something great. I missed alot of opportunities to keep bad things from happening because I decided to keep my mouth shut. Then I lost it altogether. So use it while you have it!

Being special is a problem. All the boring normals make us feel unwanted. I'm psychic and had a hard time being a teen, then again who didn't. Now I'm a professional psychic.

Don't change, you are you for a reason. Try to tone it down if you can for your own safety, you never know what the angel worshippers will do.

Definitely don't tell your mom. Watch Mothman Prophecies. Keep a journal (hide it) of what you think will happen. When it happens, write that in the journal too. Then you can look back and see if it is straight premonition, or if there are other clues. Like maybe you over hear things and your subconcious mind puts it together. Usually it's a combination of things. When you get part of it wrong and part of it right you can fine tune it. Good luck.

Precognition is a relatively common occurance in as much as that most people have one or more instances of it occuring at some points throughout their lives. However, if your experiences of this phenomena has a very high frequency of occurance... say one to three times a week, then you may want to get tested and learn to channel that gift for the benefit of others. Good luck in your attempts to cope with the gift.

you should first go to tickle.com and click on PhD certified then on new or popular tests (doesn't matter) click select all. Then scroll down til you see "How Psychic Are You?" then take it and it should tell you. B e yourself and tell everybody that you think you might be psychic. I f they dont beleive you, then dont listen to them you know what you are and you plan on keeping yourself that way. If you dont have friends, the n make some by telling the truth about yourself if they dont like it , they dont have to be your friend.

You might not want to talk to your peers about stuff like that but talk to a professional person if you feel like you need to. Maybe talk to your close friends that like you for who you are about that kind of thing. And dont scare your mom.

Don't worry it happens to me to. Not psychically but more intuitively. Nothing ever surprises me because I usually see it coming. I tell people I think something sort of random is going to happen and they think I'm whacked, but then it happens. I think we just see things better than most.
