1. Pasta in Old Montreal - I have been all over the world, and I am not going to lie to you, but Montreal has the best food you will ever have. (ask a local, they'll guide you to the right location, probably in english!)

2. Montreal ( go see the Olympic Stadium, because that building costs two billion dollars to make, and it is a huge contraversary with Montrealers. Also at the Olympic stadium there is a place called the Biodome, and they have Penguins! It only costs 12.00 canadian.

Go to the Notra Dame Basicilla, even if your not catholic, this place is a major tourist attraction.

Go to the Oratory, again, tis an amazing place.

Make sure you visit old montreal... when you're there, it feels like your in Europe!

Also go shopping, Quebec has very good fashion tastes :) Shopping can be found in the downtown Montreal core.

Quebec City is also a fantastic historic city, you will not regret spending time in Q.C.

3. No, most people in Q. Speak english.

Quebec is the most beautiful province in Canada, aside from the politics that occur in Quebec, Canadians all across the country would agree that Quebec is their favroite province to visit.

Yes, learn some French...it'll be helpful, especially to read signs and menus even though most menus are bilingual

Come to Montreal particularly from the third week of June through to August. It'll be hot and humid but fun, since the Jazz Fest, the world's top music festival, is on around the first week of July usually, followed by the world's top comedy fest which sometimes runs concurrently with North America's top genre film fest, Fantasia. There's also the Firework Competition every week for about a month and other sight-seeing events.

What to eat... there's lots of great restaurants and a special treat called poutine, which when described may not be to everyone's taste but should be tried because it's a Quebec original...freshly-made french fries tossed with cheese curds and smothered in gravy.

I hope you'll enjoy yourself here.

You should eat crepes and bread (don't cut it, break it). Go to the old Quebec City and explore, it is really incredible, and yes, you should learn French, but most underdstand english. C'est une langue fantastique! (It's a fantastic language). Montreal is also beautiful. Bonne Chance! (Good Luck!). St. Anne De Beaupre is a really nice church, even if you arn't religious, it is amazing (near quebec city).

Eat poutine, it's a cultural experience not to be missed.
Others have good suggestions of where to go.
Sure, learn French. At least enough to say hello "bonjour" and thank you "merci".
