regressive philosophy or very redundant political strategy. What do you gain from it? IF YOU ARE A TERRORIST, PLEASE ANSWER- don't worry, no one (at least not me) is going to track you down. But YOUR perspective would be dynamite (no pun intended).
I mean, explain it to me someone. You go out and decimate a
bunch of people, a bunch of totally innocent people, that have nothing to do with you or your cause. So, you incite "terror", "terror"
is created....What does that do but indeed strike terror, temporarily, in the hearts of the survivors and kin- and then, when
the momentary act is over and time passes and the act kind of
fades into the past, THEN where are you? What was accomplished? Oh, you put your signature on it and claimed
responsibility for it? How noble of you, but who cares, except the
people that are hunting you down...You do not advance your cause
or gain any respect for your cause. In fact, what you accomplish is
just another turn in the viscious cycle

of hatred, now they hate you. Do you really
think killing for killing's sake works? Or are
you not viewed as the pathetic cowards you are. What cause has ever been advanced by terrorism? What accomplishment was ever achieved? What
political justice ever came out of it?
The answer is nothing, absolutely nothing,
but tragedy. Yes, your causes may be valid,
your goals noble- maybe the noblest, but
is THIS the way? Has it ever worked? No, and no again.
So if you are a terrorist- or let's just say
"heavily involved"- for the love of God -my
God, your God, any God, please, explain
it to me so that I can then explain it to the
little children, some of which may be your
own, what happened to their little arms
and legs and hands.
Wake up, no matter how many times you
commit these acts- absolutely nothing is
achieved but death. And I'm beginning to
think that maybe that is it- death- that you
have no cause, that you have simply grown
fond of kiling and know not what

else to do anymore. This is so sad, for you, for your cause(s), for humanity.
Go not further back in time, but see the
light of tomorrow, of reason. Reason requires no particular spiritual persuasion.
Simple reason. Think about it.

Great question! I personally feel that terrorists, in general, have a belief that what they are doing is good and the extreme groups will use religion as a weapon, such as Al-Queda and the such. Their primary purpose is to disrupt and eventually destroy to governments of nations and peoples they do not accept, like, whatever. I know that the Al-Queda were formed around the time of 1948, which is the year that the last Muslim royal family was dethroned from their nation (I do not recall its name) and thus the Muslim empire and dynasty fell to democracy and Christian and Buddist rulers. Needless to say, this angered them and then you see the immergence of modern day Al-Queda. I forget what they were called originally.

I'll be surprised if any terrorists were to actually respond. You see the ones we face today want to take away forums such as these. If those boys living in the Afghan caves had their way, we would all live like goat farmers adhering to their brutal, backward vision of the world.
You want to know what they want. Ostensibly Osama wanted the infidels out of Saudi Arabia. So to get that he decides the murder of 3000 people is the proper way to ask. How can we possibly have any rational discussion with a man/people who think that will ever allow them to achieve their goals. Their whacked out of their minds.
I saw one post that suggested that one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. That might be true if you are blowing up trains full of Nazi soldiers, but when you are blowing up buses full of school children, well you're just a twisted, sick monster who might get a severe wake up call in the after life when those 72 virgins come after you with pitchforks. And let's hope that exactly what is waiting for them.

these people live in a different world with different values...
the majority of them are poor boys with no one that loves them... and poor in the middle east means you have nothing, not even a pot to p*ss in....
they seek acceptance and terrorists are all too happy to give them a place and a "meaning" in life...
in your little group... you're new family... everyone cares... and everyone thinks the same way... in reality, it's a glorified gang with a religious tint...
but then how and why do they attack... it's as simple as an event, like let's say the zarqawi boming... when we killed him... it was a great thing, I agree, but homes around his home were also hit by the blast... it's horrible, but it happens in war...
so lets say a little girl died in the blast, I don't know if one did, but for the sake of arguement, let's say one did... then the terrorist don't see that a very bad man was killed, but that a baby girl was murdered... and they want revenge...
revenge is a basic emotion/idea, especially in a culture that focuses on honor...
but they don't have tanks or guns... all they have is home-made bombs... so they use the only things that they can...
is it good... no... is it smart... probably not... but you're not in Kansas any more when you deal with these people... logic goes out the window

Yeah, sorry. Not a terrorist but I do think I can partially answer your question.
Typically I agree with you. It doesn't really accomplish anything...technically. Their trying to intice change. For the 9/11 act, it was in response to America being on what they consider to be 'Holy Land'.
Because they are on their 'holy land', it is a 'holy war' (jihad). Because it is a holy war, their sacrifice (sucide bombing/flying) will be rewarded in their afterlife.....something like 40 virgins or something like that. So this is what they have to gain.

It is publicity for the terrorists beliefs. How many of you paid attention to Osama Bin Laden and his bunch of thugs before 9-11? Not many I would bet. But now he has your attention. His views are being debated on a worldwide level. Thousands of jihadists are flocking to him as a leader. Before he was a rich nobody, now he is known worldwide. Also he has gotten the illiterate masses to start thinking that western civilization is the root of all of their troubles. Everything bad that happens to them is our fault.
But hey, you don't see the leaders killing themselves do you? Just the ignorant imbeciles that they can talk into suiciding.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
Through acts of senseless violence, they hope to get a capitulation to whatever goals they are aiming at.

They're just bullies with financial and political backing...or in simpler terms: men with really small penises and even smaller minds who think that their religion is right and everyone who disagrees with their assinine ideas about religion and politics should cease to exist. But wait......is that not our (U.S.) government? Hmmm......
