The usenet group sci.physics and its various offshoots get a fair amount of intelligent traffic. What nonsense they do get tends to be more of the hard-core net.kook variety, rather than the trolling middle-schoolers and fundies typical of YA.

Yahoo Groups has a moderated physics group but it gets very little traffic.

Not exactly a physics question, but I can see why you would ask it here. :-)

It would be hard to have a forum where there is an IQ minimum. I'm sure that whatever forum designated will be flooded by non-responsive answers, inappropriate comments, and mindless banter. The best that we can hope for is to ignore the blather and keep on engaging our minds.

Actually I am finally getting a divorce. The last thing I want is to be engaged.

In all honesty, I get very frustrated with the lower-level answers people give and the incredibly stupid questions some ask. I would like to have some place where questions and answers are taken seriously. I am also tired of people wanting us to do their homework problems!

I am going to make a forum and put it on my website, however, nobody is ever on my website, so it won't be that great.
