Unless you are a high risk pregnancy, many doctors do not see you before your twelve week. Relax, you don't need to find another doctor. Congratulations and enjoy your pregnancy!

Okay so this is what my doctor told me...he didn't want to see me until I was about 12 weeks pregnant. Most miscarriages happen in the first trimester. This way? If something was going to happen (like a misscarriage) it would not be stopped and was probably for the best. Just keep taking prenatal vitamins and taking care of your body..its working extremely hard right now making a welcoming nest to shelter your baby. Get enough sleep as well, you will need it. Congrats and good luck!

I went for my first prenatal visit with both of my boys at about 11 - 12 weeks. Going early is sort of pointless...other than taking a blood pregnancy test to verify that you are pregnant, there's really nothing your ob/gyn can do for you. At 6 - 8 weeks gestation, it's really too early to hear the baby's heart beat. Most doctors don't order an ultrasound that early unless you've had complications with prior pregnancies. If you do start to miscarry, there's nothing they can do for you.
I would say the only reason to go that early is if you have a history of miscarriages or high risk pregnancies...They would probably monitor you more carefully, but I don't know what they could do for you if something bad happened.
If you like your doctor, stick with him/her. 12 weeks is fine.

It's ideal to go earlier, but during 2 of my pregnancies I didn't realize I was pregnant until around 12 weeks, so it's not a serious thing. If you are happy with your doctor in every other aspect, by all means, keep him/her. Trust is the most important aspect in a doctor/patient relationship. Things change all the time in medicine, and I'm sure if you showed any need to see your doctor earlier an appointment would be made.

She must have a range of of sufferers to ascertain. you want to stumble on a nurse-midwife or a doula to do your prenatal care and shipping. flow to the hospital the position you'll provide. Make an appointment first, and confer with the nurses. They recognize just about each and every thing about each and every Dr. that substances there. At your next prenatal appointment take cost. Have your questions out and prepared. the instantaneous your rfile walks in the door ask her how she is and then ask your questions. do not enable her intimidate you. in simple terms because she is the DR. does no longer mean she is any extra significant than you're. that is your toddler, your body, your existence. She has been employed by you to assist keep you healthful. she will be fired or in different words you'll locate yet another Dr. it is your excellent and criminal responsibility to your self . if you're actually not happy with the service then locate yet another Dr. who will listen on your concerns. solid success and God Bless.

12 weeks is typical.
They will usually see you as soon as you've missed a period to confirm the pregnancy, if you ask them to, but I never did that. All my prenatal visits started when I was between 12 and 14 weeks.

ARe you healthy? I've had six pregnancies. Some I went really early, others about 12 weeks. If you are anxious, let your doctor know, because the anxiety will affect how you are coping with all the hormonal changes.
Go to the library and check out What to expect when you're pregnant. it is a really good reference that will outline what to expect each month and what to expect at each doctor's visit.
Check out local mid-wives for reassurance.
Good luck!

My doctor does the same thing (I am now 24 wks and he is a GREAT doctor). There is not much he can do for you before 12 wks, but if you have any questions, I'm sure he will answer them if he is a good doctor. If he doesn't give you the time of day with your questions, then find a new one. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!!

I went to my first appointment at 7 weeks. If you want to go now, then have them make you an appointment. All's they do is weigh you and listen to the heartbeat. They will also make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins, and give you some reading about pregnancy.

This is the trend, but if you are really concerned go see another doctor. With my oldest I saw the doctor about 6 weeks but by my third they had moved to twelve. I am sure it has to do with HMO's and rising costs, etc. Congratulations!!
