Depends on your psychological health. They say if you start talking more about money than about art become an investment banker. If you need art then art is first. Whatever you do for money is what you do on the side.

It depends. Money can buy art, but art is priceless. Oximoron, eh? Well, if you are creating the art, I'd say art is more important. But if you have to choose between living on the streets or buying artwork supplies, I'd go for the money.

They are equal...You can buy art with money and use art to make money..(thus funding more art)
Trades, and craftsmen came from art, and those were driven by need to survive meaning the need to barter or sell.
They perpetuate the need for each other.
