Go for classic looks. Pick up a GQ magazine, or turn on the tube to some fashion stations...Queer Eye is informative and (I think) highly entertaining.

I like a man who dresses well, too. Semi-casual is always a good rule to go by. Then you're unlikely to ever get caught under dressed or overdressed. Try layering, like a nice dress shirt under a blazer. Properly fitted jeans go well with that kind of look, as do dress pants. Shoes...you should always invest in good shoes. They last a long time so go to a department store, get an opinion from a salesclerk, and splurge a bit.

Do you have a friend who dresses well? Why don't you ask for some help picking out some new clothes.

The most important accessory you could add is a confident smile...don't be one of those people who aren't comfortable in the skin they are in. Love your new duds and look like you belong!

Ok man, the best advice I can give you is stay focussed on the big names from Chicago, LA, and NewYork and definately go foreign. Some of the brands I personally like are Versace, Armani, Lacoste---The process of having style is developed, not made over night, ya know. But, if you're looking to just dress sharp, go to a good designer outlet and ask the people that work in those departments for their advice on what to put together. I personally think Express-old structure-is very stylish and up to date in fashion. Not bad on pricing either, compared to the italian designer wear. Another thing, consider getting a watch, and some nice shades, Dolce and Gabanna, Mont Blanc, Gucci, and Versace are excellent names when looking for sunglasses and accessories. Dont forget to add in a nice blazer and trousers, untucked shirt that differs from the blazer's color and a nice belt. work with Coach, City of London, Jones New York, and Frasi for ties and shirts. Belts...I personally like Geoffrey Beene and Claudio Nucci. Now, just need to throw in your own style and aditude, ya know? Oh and cologne, work with Burberry Brit, or Dolce and Gabanna. Shoes...Definately look at Vein. Most stylish, or Johnston and Murphy, or Kenneth Cole Awesome choices. Well, hope you have some kind of direction now man. Lol

First, you have to sort out the most important things you'd like to consider when it comes to clothing. Like comfort, price and the over-all look, etc. When dressing up, you have to consider the color combination and the patterns that you are wearing. For starters, go for the classic look first. Remember that your sense of style is not acquired overnight. As you grow more confiddent with the way you dress, the more you can experiment with different looks that will suit you. The footwear should also depend on what type of clothes you are wearing or what look you are actually going for.

Of course it also helps to read fashion magazines to get tips on fashion and ideas on how to wear some pieces of clothing.

Dressing up should be fun! Always have fun with what you are wearing, that always completes your look. :)

The best thing would be to visit local stores and find which ones have personal shoppers. Talk with them and get them to show you some things and explain the style of it....cut, fit, detais, everything. Everyone has their own style...trendy or classic, bold or elegant, flirty or modest, etc. Then you need to learn what your colors are, that makes a huge difference. It breaks down in fours, spring, summer, autumn, and winter....cool and warm. Gold looks best on warms and silver looks best on cools. From there learn exactly what coors look best on you. Then start finding your personal taste in what cuts you like on yourself and run with it. Talk with any girls that you know that are very fashion forward, surely they will appreciate a man trying to look good and help you out.

Look around. I'm talking classic, acceptable. Not gothic, or punk or flaming idiot, hip hop ridiculous. Classic Jeans, khaki's, or shorts, & tee, belted, with sandals for summer, or white tennies. Casual wear. Step up to a button down shirt with one or two pockets, you have a choice. Windbreaker, or jean jacket. Denim is hot & never goes out of style. For dressier, less casual, choose a different material in trousers, with coordinating shirt. Black dress loafers. The main thing is that you don't look like a slob. I hope this helps.

Hire your self a personal assistant. Or when you go shopping plan to spend a bit of time (and maybe a little more money) and ask for help from the sales staff.
