I have read countless financial books that were sometimes overrated by general populace and offer hype information (i.e., Suze Orman's books and "Rich Dad, Poor Dad."). Don't get me wrong some of stuff that these popular writers can be applied for the average American to pursue the coveted American Dream of being a debt-free millionaire. There are two books that I recommend the average person to read, which is my definition of "the best financial book[s]," that is David Bach's "The Automatic Millionaire" and Dave Ramsey's "The Total Money Makeover." These two books are by far the most realistic and every step correlates. Happy reading, my dear person!

The best financial "books" I have ever read:
->Theory of Investment Value (John Burr Williams)
(because: it explains how to value shares in a company)
->Warren Buffet's annual reports
(because it explains how to value shares and the proper mindset)
->EDGAR sec corporate filisings
(because : it has specific details on every publicly traded company)
-> Morningstar and valueline
(Because it shows the financial trends over 10-20 years)

The Market Wizards series. BTW, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" is not a financial book--it's a joke.

Depends on what you mean by "financial". Do you mean personal finance or investment? For personal finance I think that David Bach's "Automatic Millionaire" is good.
For investments, "The Warren Buffett Way" is an excellent read.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad - because it talks about the psychology of money which either makes or breaks most of us.
