In spite of not being allowed on High School campuses and College campuses in many places.
They have to fill the ranks.
Apparently, the Army is not getting the creme de la creme.
But they have to fill the ranks.
Would you like to have the draft restored?
These guys that are being signed up are your basic nuts and bolts infantry guys.
They ain't Mormon kids...The Mormon kid is in Language School.
The army is looking for troops ...and they can't afford to scrutinize that closely.
Haven't heard of this problem in the Navy.

This is a touchy one. I guess they should be allowed in. We should tolerate no discrimination based on beliefs or political positions, theoretically. So we have to take the bad with the good.
If these guys have criminal records, that's another story.

The military is the best place for these people because they will HAVE to learn to work with people from different ethnic backgrounds. What are they going to do-"Excuse me, could I have white DI as I'm a nazi"-"Ah..we need air support, but you ain't one of dem Jews are you"?!
