Where did Kyra Sedgwick learn her fabulous Southern accent?

I have become addicted to The Closer and I just love her accent. I know she was born and raised in New York, but it doesn't sound fake at all.

Sorry, but I'll have to disagree with you. I'm from the south. Lived there my whole life. And it sounds FAKE. It's very forced. But I do like the show.
