NOW... after seeing other answers, I add this.
Adults can use slang, but they need to know when it is appropriate. I am an adult, and I sure as hell don't use slang when going to a job interview or anything.
Also, the idiot who said "no, i'm not a stoner" is a complete idiot. I am a stoner of less than a year and was using slang back in middle school. Get a life, bro.

It depends on who I've been spending time with and who I am talking to.
My brother and I call each other "dude" a lot, Mum and I sometimes call each other "b*itch" or "honey," my best gal pal and I call each other "sweetie" and "wench" all the time.
When I'm at a Renaissance Festival I call everyone "m'lady" or "m'lord," when I'm down south I call everyone "sugar," in my hometown of Detroit I often say "bro" or "sistah" or "there goes some family," in my college town I refer to "prof's" and comment on the "duds visiting Buns and Nibbles" (the students visiting Barnes and Nobles books), etc.

Yes, b/c Due and Man can be used not only to address people but you can call them that if you forgot their name and it isn't obvious. It is uni-sex and can also be used just to geta point of enthusiasum (sp?0 across. For example: DUDE-You will never guess what I just saw!" "MAN, it was crazy!"

yeh dude i do..hey man! i use 'em as a friendly gesture to some 360 compatriots..and sometimes ill use 'em here in answers or even the forum
