Homosexuality isn't the love of "boys" that's pedophilia and gross and disgusting (see priests).

Homosexuality is loving someone of the same gender. And you base your argument on FAULTY LOGIC. That's like saying, "a cat has four legs, a dog has four legs, therefore a cat is a dog" you simply can't get the facts to support themselves that way, even the LOGIC appears valid at first. Or perhaps "all dogs are black, all crows are black, therefore all dogs have wings" it just doesn't work. Try a more correct argument.

And by the way, how does being a fat glutton make YOU A BETTER PERSON THAN ANYONE ELSE, and when has being FAT been a reason for a disability? Just because you can stuff more food on your gullet than anyone else at the table justifies you denouncing someone else? LoL and what IS THAT thing to your right? I'd get a wart remover for that.

ps and love is the GREATEST of all things, it forgives all things.

And an anti-semite too, nice! All those years of meditation right down the drain! Sweet. Nice way to recommend Hinduism, NOT!

i just want to understand why [love justifies homosexuality ]

seriously, YOU WANT NOTHING OF THE KIND.

But of course, we aren't talking about eating people or pedophilia, are we? We also aren't talking about killing people.

This is an old and disparaged debating technique, routinely called a fallacy in academic circles.

You set up and knock down straw men that have nothing really to do with the subject you are trying to discuss -- and then claim you've proved something about said topic.

I'm sorry -- I wasn't impressed by such juvenile nonsense when I was an undergraduate, a graduate, or a post-graduate student. These days I'm still not impressed by it -- whether you are a Christian fundamentalist, a Muslim, a Hindu, or a Natavist and regardless of what color the beard you grow to cover your chin is, and regardless of your age. (Yes, I read your profile)

If you want to argue, then argue specifically about the topic you are actually getting at -- which is apparently that in your opinion gay is bad. Your argument is actually LESS worthwhile by far than a 13 year old yelling "caca doodoo *******," and less impressive than arguments, pro and con -- made by almost any 15 year old I've seen post here --- which speaks well of the 15 year olds, but not so well of you.

PS In response to your response to me -- regardless of what you claim to be -- you did not ask a question. You made a question in statement format, using the very technique I referenced.

A question would have been "Why do gays say that just because they love each other it is alright?" Still mildly slanted, but a real question. You pretend to ask that question in a more slanted format, and then add caveats in the form of strawmen to prejudice the answer.

Who and what you are still can't change the value of doing such a thing, and it doesn't take a college professor to know how much value it has -- which is to say -- none.

Krazie said it very well in terms of distinguishing that most of your examples aren't actual love.

But that fact that it isn't love aside or, rather, taking it from the perspective that people engaging in pedophilia, bestiality, or murder believe they are doing so out of love.

Your rights stop where the other person's (or animal's) begin --
bestiality is not okay b/c the animal cannot consent to the act, it's essentially being raped.
Pedophilia is not okay b/c a child isn't capable of making an informed decision and consenting - just like the above.
Murder - do I even have to explain this one? whether you believe the people to be 'sinners' or not, in murdering them you're depriving them of the right to live.

Homosexuality differs b/c it is two consenting adults - perfectly capable of living their life as they choose.

The arguement that 'we're in love, why can't you be okay with that?' isn't used to 'justify' the act of homosexuality, but in a hope that you will understand that the love between two men or two women is the same as that between a man and woman. It's simply an attempt to make you see that the same feeling you and your boyfriend/girlfriend have when you're together is what they experience.

have you ever been in love? If you have been in love before did you like it? Imagine been so in love with someone but you cant be with them because society doesnt like it.. I dont think men sleeping with boys is ok because they love it.. Its sick and perverted not to mention Illegal.. Beastiality is sick perverted and illegal too I dont agree with it just because the person loved the animal.. and I believe that religion is the biggest crock of **** around.. Geoffery Dahmer ate his lover yes and I dont know anyone who is saying thats ok..I think what you really need to do is look at your question and think.. think real hard.. use that brain that im sure is there somewhere.. use your common sense.. What we are saying is if we love each other 2 human beings why do you care.. and if you honestly consider homosexuality to be in the same boat as child molesters, murderers and people who have sex with animals.. You are sick! you have a sick mind!
If you stopped thinking about what happened in the bedroom, perhaps you would see that 2 men or 2 women can love each other equally as opposite sex partners!

You're talking about loving things, not people.

Loving people is never wrong. Acts done out of that love CAN be, but morality is subjective. In America, one of our core values is freedom. And if our freedom isn't impeding on anyone else's (which it's not), then that's usually good enough. What justifies homosexuality as "wrong" according to you? No one's hurt by it, and frankly it doesn't have to involve you in the least (though you seem to choose to involve yourself for some reason).

You pose, rather than request, a broad and subjective thesis. Nothing greater than rhetoric perhaps.

However, in response I'll simply say the "love" you mention is the difference between a noun and a verb (transitive or intransitive). You've also used it as an adjective (?) which makes a response somewhat difficult.

Perhaps a better framed, more easily understood question would help us.

Namaste

people use the word love like it's cheap cologne. they throw it around like it's going out of style.
there is nothing wrong about love, of course the way you used that word is a misinterpretation.
one religion doesn't "love" to kill another religion, they use their "beliefs" to justify their killing another religion. it's that whole, i'm better than you, and this is why-and you'll either assimiliate or die concept. is it wrong? yes. is it love? no.
gay men "love" to have sex with boys. first off, gay men aren't the only people who molest children. straight people-inclduing women do it all the time too. gay men aren't the perverts hiding in the shadows that you paint them out to be-you poor misguided man. as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse-at the hands of a straight man-i take offense to this very comment. now the proper form of that question is:
child molesters "prefer" to have children as their vicitms because they are small and helpless. child abuse is about power, not sex. is it right? no. is it "love"? no.
people "love" to have sex with animals. once again, it is like previously stated. people who have sex with animals don't "love", they "prefer" having sex with animals. that is their particular kink, and that is what gets them off. is it right? legally, no. is it "love"? no.
just because someone "loves" to do something, does that make it right? depends on what you're talking about. some people think drug use or drinking is fine, others abhor it, so it's all a matter of point of view. nothing in life is ever completely black and white with the entire populace of the world. so who is to say what is right or wrong.
jeffrey dalhmer "loved" to eat people. actually, no he didn't. he ate people as a way to rid his apartment of his victims. he had a mental illness. does that make it okay for him to eat people? no. nor did it make it okay for him to kill people either. was it "love"? no.
it is misuse of the word "love" that is used as a justification, just the same way people use "oh, i was raised this way," or "the bible says" as justification for their acts. does it make it right? no. people should just buck up and take responsibility, but hey, why should we? we live in a society where's it's almost always somebody else's fault.
another misused word is pervert. what is fine for some is wrong to someone else. who is to judge who is a pervert? because no matter how much we all like to deny it, down deep inside we all have something that someone else would think is totally disgusting. that is human nature, and you'll never ever be able to change it. just be what you are, as long as you aren't hurting anyone.

what an ignorant question. I"m sorry you are so quick to judge others. Gays are not pedophiles or perverts when it involves two consenting adults who share a relationship. If you are threatened and obviously uneducated, I am glad you asked a question if you have an open mind. Otherwise, what are you doing in the gay and lesbian section?

I think you just made a good point. It's like when people do things because it "feels right" For serial killers I'm sure it "feels right" to watch someone die. Just because it feels right doesn't mean it is right. However, I do think it's different. I don't believe in persecution. Loving a person is different than loving to commit crimes.
