Ugh. It's really important to stop using pads. Pads are just... meh.
I use Instead soft cups... they go inside like a tampin but they are silcone cups, like a diaphram and they collect, not absorb.
I can't use a tampon anymore since I switched... I can feel them now.
The soft cups are not for the squeamish and are messy the first go 'roudn til you know what your doin but BOY... are they EVER worth it!!!
I don't know how old you are, but if you're an adult and sexually active... there's a bonus with Instead in that you can HAVE SEX WITH THEM IN. Says so right on the box, in fact.
And since they keep everything sealed up til you let it out.. there's no menstrual related odors.. EVER.
Noone needs to know you even have it unless you choose to share.
I'm a fan. Buy Instead... keep them in business so I can keep using the product.

Well, I prefer tampons, but if you choose pads it's definitely important to change them often (every 2-3 hours). Odor and bacteria build up in such a short length of time. It's hard to maintain sanitary conditions during your period, so do everything you can to stay clean and healthy. If you have light periods, use smaller pads, but still change them often. Who brought up this lovely subject anyhow?

of course u must but depending on the size of the pad and also the brand name each brand name has different odor fighters which can last up to different hours some can even last up to six hours but it also depends on how heavy your period is, so you'll know when to change your pad to prevent leakage so just on the safe side of things you should change every 3-4hrs. Depending on how heavy your period is and on light days you should use smaller ones

my opinion is that you change it as necessary as you think need to. if nothing comes out after 3 hours, then you don't need to change it. however, if it is soaking wet and heavy, then you definitely need to change it. it all depends.

Use tampons, start with the slim ones, they are more comfortable, you dont feel them after awhile and way more sanitary.
