I have to evaluate sources for newspapers, magazines, television programs, movies, television news reporting, internet, advertising and answer this question. What factors may influence their claims?

Here are some things to check for:
-Who the media source is owned by. Disney owns ABC, so ABC's coverege of an accident at Disney World is less credible than CNN.
-Where the reporters get their information from. Follow who they source to see if they are believable and what motives they have. A 80 year old man who witnessed D Day is less credible about the invasion than the government report.
-If the piece is fact or fluff. The more fluff, the more bs, and less credibility
-What language is used. Read between the lines. "The Best" also means equal to everything else. Big claims without concrete, independent facts are not credible.
