It's been awhile ago that I completed the Dale Carnegie Sales Course, but I think I remember some of the tips it presents to become a Top Selling Salesman:
--Believe in what you are selling
--Listen to your client
--Find out your client's needs
--Tailor your presentation to fit the client's needs
--Always keep the client coming back to what your product can do to fill his needs
--Meet objections with facts, but keep his needs in mind
--Don't give up on a sale too soon. Often a client just needs 1)a little more time, 2)more reassurance by you that it is the right product for him
--Close the sale before leaving or before he leaves you. There is no later in selling.
If you are, or want to be a salesman, good luck. It is one of the most challenging occupations that I know of. And I was trained by some of the top men in their fields, and they said the same thing.
