There may be an additional circuit breaker in another box that feeds to the box in which you found the tripped breaker. You may have not properly reset the tripped breaker. You must push the handle all of the way to the off position before flipping it to the on position on many of these breakers. If that still doesn't work turn the breaker off. There is the possibility that the receptacle was damaged and you should be able to see this by removing the cover if it is a surface mount receptacle. If it is a flush mount (recessed) receptacle you may be able to inspect the contacts by shining a light into the receptacle. If the contacts have been damaged it should be apparent by comparing the appearance of the contacts remembering that the prongs must be slightly closer together than the thickness of the tines of the dryer cord so they make a good contact when the plug is inserted. It is very unlikely that any damage has been done to the dryer itself as the problem has occurred outside of the dryer. The possibility also exists that a wire either at the receptacle or at the circuit breaker may have burned off from the short circuit if there was a loose connection. Remember there is high voltage inside the breaker box and there could be high voltage in the receptacle even though the dryer is not working unless the breaker is turned off. The breaker could also could have been damaged and would need to be replaced. If you are not familiar with and do not have experience working in breaker boxes leave that work to a proffesional as there is always power inside the box even though the main is turned off.

You have for sure popped one side of a two lined curcuit.
Turn off-unscrew the other side and the one you blew, then remove the metal if it's still there, then renew-flip the fuse-curciut breaker, and try again. If it still doesn't work, you blew the outlet box, and it will have to be replaced.

if your breaker is ok,, there is a slight chance that the connections in the wall outlet may have burnt,, you'd have to take the outlet off and check it,, also,, the motor on the dryer may have a pop-off breaker on it!! another visiual check here!!

Check your circuit breaker. They're designed to trip before anything really bad happens.
