I would like people to respond with what they think would be their reaction. OR if you have experience then share that as well.
The scenario:
50 yr old divorced male with 3 children; 18,23,26
(children do not live with him, but DO visit)
22 yr old single female no children
They move in together.
What is your reaction?? what variable would you take into account besides the already provided information?

Truly a variety of widely ranged views. I am sorry to say that i disagree with most of except the person that answered "sick, sick, sick".
But maybe now i can reveal the last detail and why i agree with the 1st person. I am one the 26 yr old "child". To me it is the most disgusting, disturbing thing ever done. Yes there is $$ involved etc. But from my point it is all about age #'s. Gross since i al over 3 yeras older then her. Also to be fair..if my 18yr old sister ever came home with a man that was let's say...36? I think my entire family would go to jail for murder.

My brother is a 50 year old man and his girlfriend is 26 with a 10 year old daughter that is now living in his house. In the beginning I thought it was ok and went into it with an open mind.... But not anymore. She is a awful mother and it is obvious that she puts her own desires ahead of her daughters needs. She is a huge partier and my brother can't keep up with her. He has already had one heart attack since she moved in. She thinks she is a goddess, and she has my brother fooled, when reality is that she is just a skank.
I feel that she is only in it for his money and he is too horny to see it.

With the given info.... my first reaction is... WOW... but on the flip side once i start to think about I remember all of the ppl i know who are in relationships that there is a big difference in age. Now thats not to say that there are not other variables but for instance... My best firend is 22, she has been with her b/f since she was 19. He is now 48. They live together, and are in the military, he is her ranking officer. Yes these two ppl have nothing in common, they both have good times and bad. Its a stretch sometimes for them to have convo's but that i would think i s because there is such an age difference, he's been and lived through things that she does not have a clue about. Does that make them any less in love. I dont know, but i do know that in a finacial sense he can do more for her then the average 22 y/o man can do, thats also another aspect. I'm sure that this girl is comfortable with this man in that sense. No, that isnt a reson for staying with someone, its a variable. there are always things outside of love that will make us stay with our partners
My mother is another one. she is 48 and her husband is 30. personally I cant stand him. But I have my reasons for that. their relationship works for them to the extent that they got MARRIED....... Another friend i have is 26 and her "man" is 27, they are really going through it... he cant seem to commit , they have clidren together, and she does everything a wife does, just without the ring and title......Basically what im saying in these examples is that as a person we cant base our relationships on what ppl think or say, because people are always going to say "OMG look at the old a$$ man with that young girl" and visa versa........When ou find happiness and joy in the love that someone gifts to you. You should hold on to it for all you are worth because there are ppl who never get to expierence what you will and the fact that its a great feeling is just a side benifit :-P

Honestly, I don't think it's sick ,like that other person said, but I do think that 50 is a little old for a 22 year old to be dating. Heck, the guy is old enough to be her father! I think 35 is old enough for a 22 year old to date. However, age is just a number and love is love. If they love each other enough then I really don't see a problem with it. If it works that's great. If it doesn't ,oh well, at least you learned something from it.

Why not? That's an everyday occurrence. She feels like it then she should. The gap is only 15 yrs. What would be weird is if that same gap is moved to younger people ie: 15 dating 30

I think she's a little too young to be tied down to an old viagra using fart, but if that's what makes them happy.
If they can make a relationship work despite the generation gap, ready-made family, then more power to them. I hope he's rich and handsome! LOL
Men significanlty older who pursue much younger women are usually seeking someone to make them feel young again, and the younger woman feels flattered by the attention until she gets bored looking at his wrinkled *** then she starts cheating with someone her own age.

Most men that age are just going through a life change. They want everything to be new, vibrant. They usually aren't divorced, and are just cheating on their wives. They just need a boost to make them feel younger. It's like a drug to them. And they have only one thing on their minds, SEX! Experienced F/22

So what's the big deal?
A man is a man and a woman is a woman. Just don't try to be their step mom! That won't work!
Men love sex. Men love young fresh things. Some girls have "daddy" complexes. If it works out, who gives a rats ***!
If it's dysfunctional psychological abnormality, who cares, so long as it works!

I think he's having a mid-life crisis and trying to hold onto his youth and she's looking for a father figure. Can it work? Maybe but not likely.
