have one hand support the rear, while supporting the upper part of the bunny under its front paws with the other hand

and if it's a baby then you hold it on its back one hand supporting the neck, and the other hand holding its feet together so it cant kick and accidentally hurt itself

When picking them up or holding them, you use the same techniques as you would for a puppy ar kitten. There is extra skin on the back of thier neck. That is how thier momma's cary them. When holding them, you need to secure thier front and back legs or you'll be a marked person. Once the animal gets comfy with you, you will find you will not have to secure the legs.

You pick up a rabbit by the loose skin on the back of the neck. With one hand, then use the other hand to hold the back legs. Hold them close, so they don't become frightened.

to hold or pick up a rabbit, put one hand underneath the stomach and grasp it gently. lift the rabbit (quickly, or it may move) so that its front paws are off the ground and its hind legs are slightly extended.

then slip your other hand underneath the rabbit's tail, supporting the bum but not the hind legs. now you can lift the rabbit off the ground completely.

don't support the hind legs, 'cos if you do, it can still jump... and it has a long way to fall. be careful of the hind legs, 'cos they can still kick and scratch.

don't lift a rabbit by its ears, its equivalent to lifting a human by his ears... its painful for the rabbit.

don't lift and hold a rabbit for too long... preferably only to transfer it from inside or outside of its cage and vice versa... rabbits prefer to be on the ground. perhaps you can limit holding the rabbit to 10 minutes at most.
