I need to find out if some one in California has a valid insurance license. Is there a web site I can go to and look it up?

I moved out of California last year, so I don't know if anything's changed... but there certainly wasn't a website to my knowledge for this. HOWEVER, most counties have court records available online and you can see if the person has been to court for driving related charges and in some cases see if they've been suspended, etc.
But if you want to see if the illegal immigrant next door has a valid DL then don't bother, chances are he or she will have one soon enough

if they have a contractors license you can call the state contracting board and it will list any bonds or insurance they might have. hope this helps
