How to test TV coaxial cable for signal strength?

I am having problems with one of the coax cables between my booster and my modem and I would like to test the cables to see which, if any, are weak. How does one test coax cables?

If these are short (ie less than 20 ft.) just wiggle it.Coax seldom gos bad except at the connectors .Just replace it thats cheaper than buying test equipment.
