Turn it off, take everything out, and spray or wipe with a bleach solution, 1 part bleach, 4 parts cold water, wipe clean, rinse with warm clean water, and turn back on. Then after it gets cold, put in two boxes of baking soda, one in the bottom area towards the back, and one on the top shelf, towards the front. Change the boxes every few days till smell is absorbed and gone. Oh, you have to cut or rip the top off the box, and open the bag. lol.

When refrigerators are stored all of the odors that were absorbed by the insulation come out. You will also have some mold and mildew grow in there especially if you stored it with the doors closed. You should wash it out with a baking soda/ water solution (1tbs.baking soda to 1qt.warm water) and then place a small container such as a saucer or a custard cup containing an ounce or so of pure vanilla extract (imitation will not work) into the refrigerator section. The vanilla adsorbs some of the odor and gives off a pleasant odor of it's own. you can also place some charcoal briquettes wrapped in a paper towel and or a box of baking soda on a shelf to aid in the process. As the unit gets down to normal operating temperatures the odors will also diminish.

Baking soda. And to avoid smelly units being stored, leave an open can of coffee grounds (not used ones) inside. It works. It may even help in your case, never tried it. But I have stored fridges with the coffee, and they smelled great when opened.

A teaspoon of pine-sol and soapy water should do the trick. Then follow-up by placing an open box of baking soda on the door. Change the baking soda box every three months.

Very simple place a small bowl of salt. As salt would actually suck in the bad smell in fridges. Of course you have to start changing when the smell starts to comes again.
Ps. Is also advisable to wash the fridges if you can.

Try putting an open box of baking soda in, but do that after you scrub it down with a solution of ammonia, soap and hot water. If that doesn't do the trick, I don't know what will.

Wash it with vinegar or bleach. Put a box of baking soda in it. I have a friend who swears by charcoal. She says it really absorbs odors quick. I am not sure, I've never tried it.

wash the inside with baking soda water, then leave the door open. When completely aired out then place baking soda inside for an indefinite period of time.
