I recently lost an ovary to a large cyst. As previously stated, cyst are normal as that is where the egg develops before traveling through the fallopian tube. often the cyst does not release the egg and it keeps growing. Taking "the pill" can help to prevent this but, you should see a Gyn. and discuss having it removed before it gets large and takes over your ovary. Losing one ovary is nothing to worry about, but if you can keep from it... DO
I also had a cyst that testing did not find, it was found during surgery... so dont delay talk to a Dr. as soon as possible.
If you dont have a Dr. or insurance, check womens clinics, the Dr's there are just as good as private physicians.

There are cysts on everyone's ovaries. That is where the egg comes from. The problem comes if the burst and fluid collects (very painful- I know 1st hand) or the cyst is so large, they have to close it. Check with the gyn. They know more specifically.
