Recent studies have revealed that more woman are asking for Cesarean births for fear of labor trials. For a generation, young women have been scared by stories of laboring for 8, 12, or 36 hours; further exacerbated by the pressures of society to always be thin and youthful.

The reality is that hospitals treat pregnancy like an illness, when in fact a woman's body is never healthier. Pregnancy is natural and women have been giving birth on their own w/out Cesareans since the dawn of humanity.

Nurse-Midwives and other women's health advocates are leading the efforts to stem the tide of unnecesary C-sections, including repeat C-sections to delivery subsequent children.
Not so much to lead a revolution back to natural birth, but to educate women about their bodies and their pregnancies.

people now adays are so into having things convenient for them they tend to want to "schedule" their births if they can that is why its turning into a trend. They forget the fact that this is major surgery and there are risks as long as its in their time frame its great. I had 2 c-sections neither willingly. First was 10 years ago with my first my pelvis was too small for his head. his heart rate was getting very low. so i had an emergency c-section. and now adays they tend to have the mother try vaginal after Cesarean for many reasons. but when i had my daughter 10 years later i had to have another c-section because her umbilical cord was wrapped around her head and she was sideways when they did an ultrasound on me and in the operating room i went.

In some cases, it may disease. AIDS or Herpes.

I had to have my first child delivered by C section because I developed toxemia (pre-eclapsia). My second baby was also C Section because she was to big for me to deliver. I had two more children (they are 2, 3 and 4 years apart) and I chose to have them delivered by C section because to me, it is a much safer delivery for the baby. Once they numb you and cut your stomach, the baby is out in two minutes.

I have heard of too many horror stories of the cord wrapped around the baby's neck or the baby did not come out in time and that caused the baby to lose oxygen and brain damage was the end result, just to name a couple of reasons.

No thank you on the vaginal birth, you can cut me and take my bundle out. I am willing to deal with the after pains and stitches but I have more of an assurance that my baby is born with no problems due to delivery
.
My babies today are 27, 25, 22 & 18.

The second best reason to me for c sections is that I am not stretched out of shape. :D

Over 18 years ago, my OB/GYN, who was about 70 at the time and had delivered thousands of babies, told me that he felt it was barbaric that women still had to go through all the pain and suffering when a C-section was so much more conducive to a less stressful birth; My pelvis was very narrow, so I had one and I'm happy I did! Still breast fed and my healing time was a bit longer, but no pain killers; they gave me this electrical device called TENS where the electrodes were attached to my stitches; every time I felt pain, I just turned up the current a bit and couldn't feel a thing!

certain you may have an non-compulsory c-section in the united kingdom (on the NHS) yet they war very troublesome to deter it. you want to adhere on your guns and arise for what you want and finally they are going to likely agree. HOw extremely they offer in will count number on the medical institution coverage and the fellow representative. they'd 'diagnose' you with tokophobia and advise that you spot a councillor. in case you do each thing they ask of you and also you're nevertheless adamant you want a section, the probabilities are extreme you receives it. Bringing the subsequent era into the international is an extremely significant interest and also you should have the right to make your ideas up on precisely the way you do it. it is your body and also you should workout your proper to make your ideas up on your own disadvantages and decide your own themes. you could go go with to go privately and e book an non-compulsory section - no difficulty. (I fought for a c-section and finally they agreed for the reason that i replaced into fearful of a organic start. in the top I cancelled it on the most suitable second and went the organic route - yet that's yet another tale!) good success!!

Some people are using it instead of having vaginal births because of health issues. But also people like Brittany Spears are making it popular because she was afraid of the pain and had one. I personally gave birth to both of my children naturally (no drugs) and think it is the best way when possible. Of course, people thought I was crazy and couldn't believe that I actually did it. It was best for me and my children. I also know that induction is being used a lot more to fit in the mother and dr's schedule.

You can thank the money-hungry lawyers for this one. There have been so many lawsuits against OB-GYNs that at the first sign of any distress to the mother or baby, they run to the ER.
