Just keep your feet up and relax. Don't try to rush it either. The baby will come when it is ready. Better for it to stay in you and be healthy when it comes out than to rush it and have to be in NICU. I have been bedridden for a couple of my pregnancies and I had a lot of magazines around me. Travel magazines are good so you can imagine yourself on a tropical island somewhere. Baby magazines were always fun because you can laugh at some of the antics in there. I would watch funny movies to help time pass too. Keep your mind going so you don't even think about the time. Good luck!

What your doctor has told you is about the only thing I know. Mainly just lay off of the salt and try to keep your feet elevated. Even just sitting down will make your legs and feet swell.
I know by now you are ready to "get this baby out!" I mainly suggest to get ALOT of rest (you will need it when the baby comes), and one suggestion to make the baby come along a little quicker (maybe) is... SEX. I know your thinking... you pervert! But really, it is a proven fact that the hormones released while engaging in sexual intercourse trigger contractions. But if you have not passed your plug then forget it, you wont even start without you pass this first, and there is nothing that I know of that you can do to speed this process up except plenty of walking and it is way too hot outside at this time of year to do much walking.
Anyway, take care and I wish you comfort!!!

It's normal. Sorry, but that's pregnancy. Make sure that they've tested you for preeclampsia though, because although swelling is normal, it can also be a sign of preeclampsia. Just try to be patient. Don't bother with any of those home remedies to make yourself go into labor. None of them work. I did them ALL with both kids, and they both came in their own sweet time. Same for all my mommy friends. So just try to relax as much as possible, because you'll be sleep deprived (in the most blissful way possible) very soon.

sounds like you are experiencing some pre-eclampsia . . I had it, my feet and legs were so huge I couldn't wear shoes for the last three weeks of my pregnancy . . lie on your back, keep your feet elevated . . unfortunately, it won't go away until after you deliver . . and even then, it won't happen overnight . . best of luck to you!

i hope that your doctor checked your blood pressure as well, i think that swelling can be a side effect of that.
also i know some friends that had toxemia, and it can be very dangerous, not sure exactly what that is...
