What is your opion on the saying " every minute you spend being sad is another 60 seconds of happiness you'll never get back?"

Honestly think about this one. Do you believe that sometime you have to be sad in order to be truly grateful for what you do have? Or do u believe that life is too short to be mad?

On a factual level only, it's true, because a minute is 60 seconds, and if you spent it being sad, you can't then spend it being happy unless you figure out how to time travel.
Nobody can be happy all the time; it's abnormal.

I don't get the saying at all but I don't think happiness or sadness are requirements for gratitude. Gratitude doesn't have to be emotional, just respectful.
The fact that we do have, naturally leads us to be grateful for what we have. There are influences that erode this gratitude from naturally springing forth. The big one that I can think of is the view that "I have the right to..." rather than "It is a privilege that I can... "
I believe that happiness follows gratitude and not that gratitude follows happiness. I do think it's a shame that so many people are sad because they think they are deserving of the life they have rather than happy to be given the life they have.

At our emotional extremes, we often tend to make life changing decisions -- such as "I don't ever want to feel like this again", or "I want my life to be more like this".

We normally need to be more centered in our emotional state to carry out the plans to change our life's circumstances.

We need our emotions, "good" and "bad", to create our drive and live life more fully.

It is not humanly possible to be happy every second of every day, unless of course you are HEAVILY medicated.
