I'm not saying I feel pressured...I have succeeded in ignoring those external pressures, such as my mother-in-law. I'll have kids when I'm ready. Other people seem to rush into it, so I'm just wondering if other people feel pressured or something.

My mother-in-law is always pressuring me to have a baby and it drives me nuts sometimes. My own mother even mentions it quite often...she's always mentioning the fact that our 8 yr. old needs a brother or a sister. My mother in law has went as far as offering to give us $1000 per month to help with expenses if we go ahead and get pregnant but obviously, I won't be having anymore children until we're both in agreement and I'm ready. Finances really aren't a factor for us, it's just that I'm not ready but I hear it all the time...when are you going to have another baby, come on now I'm getting old and want a grandchild and blahzayblah.

Marriage is a bond between two persons and to have children is not a requirement under the law and religion. Thus, the couple should not be pressured to have children. It is just sad to know that other partners do not have children which is supposed to be the ultimate purpose of being bonded to one another.

You should not have children if your not ready.Just because you are married doesn't mean you have to have children right away.

No, I wasn't. I want kids very badly and I knew my husband did too. We have two great kids.
