Ive been trying to use a tampon for some time now, Im 13 and Ive been reading about how to use it, where it is, the whole 9 yards. Im going to the ocean and It would be incredibly embarresing to not be able to swim because I have my period, I think I found where to put it, but it looks like theres no where it would go! It hurts a little to put in, and I think I get it in half way, but I let go and it goes out a little, is it sopposed to do that? Ive tried mirrors everytime, and I just dont know what to do! Dont tell me to ask my mom, or anyone else. I need the best advice I can get here.

this is a question that you should talk to a doctor about because every ones body is a little different and your doctor would know best ... however... i don't think i would be asking how to use a tampon for swimming in the ocean... i think it would be wiser to ask ... "should i be swimming while on my period , where there might be SHARKS" good luck and try the beach blanket with a book routine might be a bit safer

I found that when I first started using tampons, the ones with the plastic applicator worked a LOT better. Try standing up and putting your foot on the toilet. The first few times may hurt a little because you've never had anything in there before. But, your body will adjust and the soreness won't be there anymore. If you have the aplicators that are cardboard, try using a little KY Jelly on the tip of the tampon and aplicator to help it go in easier. Remember that it's not a straight shot sometimes. You may have to jiggle the tampon around to find the right angle. And, put the top part of the applicator in as far as it will go or your tampon may slip and that can be pretty uncomfortable.

Ignore this advice from the previous person: "And, I hate to break it to you, but most women avoid swimming while on their periods because it will stop many women's periods but it starts a over again later. It's like dealing with it twice. Even if you get that working right, you may not want to swim too much."

I have never heard of this, and it is sooooooo untrue! This does not happen to me and I just asked a couple of others and they have never heard of it. I have a pool and I swim almost every day of the summer, period or not. The others had good advice about using a junior size and a plastic applicator, and taking your time. Tampons are small enough that if you do it carefully it shouldn't hurt at all.

Make sure you are using the right size tampon for you. If you are using your mom's tampons they might be to large if you are just starting or a smaller person. There are small - very large tampons. Relax, if you are nervous your muscle tense up making it harder to insert a tampon, take a couple of large breaths & try to relax your muscles. Make sure you wash your hands, if you are using a tampon with a cardboard applicator it might be easier to take it out of the applicator & use your hand help insert it till you get used to guiding it in. The tampon should insert fully into your vagina with only the string sticking out. If you dont want to ask you mom for advice consider an older or more experienced friend or friends sister you may be more comfortable with.

You really should talk with your mom, an older sister, or even an aunt. Reading words on a screen isn't the best way to learn this. And, I hate to break it to you, but most women avoid swimming while on their periods because it will stop many women's periods but it starts a over again later. It's like dealing with it twice. Even if you get that working right, you may not want to swim too much.

i had the same prob when i was 13. you are nervous which is causing your muscles to cramp up. just relax.take a deep breath. when you try the next time put one foot on the torliet and when you insert the tampon point it towards you back. it hurts yes but you will get used to it. once you get it in you should not be able to feel it. the only thing that should be hanging out is the little string to take it out later. good luck and email me if you need more help!

i was the same. i was in hawaii & it came again....well dont stress about it. just calm down (its really no big deal youll find) & tell yourself you can do it. aim toward yer lower back & make sure yer inserting it the right way. for most ppl you wont even feel its there & youll be able to swim as much as you want! i was about to swim & i just went for it & went on my way! good luck to you! it can suck to be a girl sometimes! :)

also you should kind of squat...it opens the area for a more comfortable fit. ive explained all this to ppl before but email if you have more questions :)

Try the Pearl brand from Tampax. They slide nice and smooth. Get lites or regulars. make sure you have your period when you try to insert it or it won't work. You can't practice without the period! Push it in the only place that makes sense for it to go and maneuver it a bit until it feels right. You'll get it. Also, don't be afraid to ask a woman to hang by the door and talk you through it! My godmather talked me through 8 attempts. You'll get it. R_E_L_A_X when you do it!

nicely, they say this isn't authentic, notwithstanding it wasn't til when I lost my virginity that i ought to get a tampon to experience "excellent". besides, in case you do not recognize what hollow is the position, you want to get a reflect and squat down on the floor and seem, you ought to be able to ascertain each and every thing obviously. no longer something should be overlaying your vaginal canal. you ought to ascertain a clitoris, then a very tiny hollow is your urethral taking off (the position you pee from), and then a touch decrease is the vaginal taking off. also, relax, your muscular tissues will demanding up once you're scared and it received't make it any a lot less complicated to get one in. attempt the "junior" or 'lite" length the first few situations, they're thinner and a lot less complicated to get in. and ascertain you get ones with applicators, those are a lot less complicated the first few situations. Then as quickly because this is inserted, you ought to no longer be able to experience it in any respect. in case you are able to experience it, then this is no longer intense sufficient.
