Good question.
It should be every two years because I like it very much and you do too.
It should not be in every two years because it causes billions of dollars, waste millions of working hours, lose hundreds of lives.

Even though I'd love to see the World Cup every 2 years I don't think it's a good idea. First of all it takes 4 years just for the host country to prepare for such a thing. Plus I think the fact that we have to wait for 4 years really builds up the anticipation and makes it even that much more exciting for when it's a World Cup year. Plus it does take 2 years for the whole qualifying thing.

I'm quite happy with it every four years. I understand you feel left out as the US can't play in the European Cup, but other teams have other committments that they feel oblige to commit too. And anyway, if there was a tournament every two years, as soon as one was over, the teams would have to start qualifying for the next. It would be a little hectic, especially when they have their own seasons to compete in.

I don't think any one could affored a WC every two years, not to mention theres time for recovery, to see what nation is best for it, to move players around. It seems long on the outside but for those organising it I would imagine it takes a lot. Besides there's a Womens WC in China in '07 yes?

I don't think it should be every two years. The reason is because in the four years that it takes till the next one...people anxiously await it. 2 years is not that long a time and I think sooner or later people will get horribly sick of it. 4 years is just great.

There's no way that can happen. Qualifying itself takes almost two years to do, and with the club games it would be impossible to work logistically. There is Euro 08 to satisfy you in two years.

I like the WC. But the run up to it - getting teams organized, playing a zillion games to qualify, is just too much. Plus other titles the teams have to concern themselves with.

Yeah, so I can be in it next time! Well at least I play better than some countries that lost the first time.
